The Francis Wain Jewellers website aims wherever possible to replicate the experience you will receive in any of our stores. The following terms and conditions should be read with care and as they may change from time to time, you need to check them with each successive purchase.
General Terms & Conditions
- All transactions on this website shall be governed according to English law and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisprudence in the English Courts.
- We can only accept and fulfil orders in this website for delivery within the United Kingdom (including the Channel Islands & the Isle of Man).
- All measurements are approximate.
- Images may not be to scale and the colours shown are as accurate as current technology allows.
- All prices are Pounds Sterling and include VAT at the prevailing rate.
- We reserve the right to change product specifications and designs from time to time. We will, however notify you of any changes when replying to your queries or orders.
- Not all watch brands are available at every branch.
- No contract will subsist between yourselves and FWJ for the purchase of any item(s) unless and until you have received confirmation of your order. At that point there will be legally binding contract between yourself and FWJ under these terms and conditions. We will take payment for your order immediately and the goods will not be dispatched until receipt of payment.

- We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Switch, Delta, Maestro and Credit Transfer
- E & OE.
Choosing products and paying for your Order
Prices
We always make every effort to ensure that descriptions and prices displayed on our website are accurate and up to date. If however a discrepancy should occur we apply the following policies:
- If the correct price is lower than that shown at time of ordering, we will charge you the lower price and the product will be dispatched.
- If the correct price is higher than that shown at time of ordering, we will at our discretion either contact you to ascertain if you wish to proceed with the order or cancel the order and inform you via email.
All prices shown on the website are inclusive of VAT.
Availability
Products shown for sale on our website are always offered subject to availability. If a product is unavailable at the time of your order, we will contact you either by 'phone or email.
Sale Items
Sale items are defined as those which have been on sale at a higher price during the last 6 months for at least 14 consecutive days either on our website or in one of our stores. An alternative selection of discontinued items is offered on our website to that offered in our stores and the pricing policy is independent. Online offers will not necessarily be available in our stores.
Deadline for Christmas Delivery
The last date for your guaranteed Christmas delivery orders will be published on our website.
Sizing of rings
If you know the size of the ring you wish to purchase, please indicate it when ordering. If you are not happy with the final fit, we will happily alter it free of charge for you. Please follow the instructions below for returning your purchase to us. Alterations normally take 5 working days from when we receive them.

Secure online payment
As soon as you have carried out your purchase online, we will confirm to you the order details and our acceptance of your order via email. At that point a binding agreement will exist between us under our terms and conditions. We will take payment for your order immediately - goods will not be dispatched until this is completed. Whilst we are not obliged to do so, we would, under normal circumstances, accept the order where the product is available and the order reflects the current price and also your debit/credit card payment is approved and accepted by your debit/credit card company. We regret we can only accept orders from persons aged eighteen and over. In addition to our online ordering service, orders can also be placed via our customer service line on 01553 774499 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Security of Funds
- Our card processing service is supplied by Barclays Merchant Services and Barclays ePDQ (epdq.com)
- On entering your card details, a padlock will appear at the bottom right hand corner of the window. This is to indicate that the page is secure and no other person, including ourselves, can read this information
- ePDQ CPI uses a high level of encryption using 128 bit SSL encryption. Lower levels of encryption on customer computers will be automatically upgraded to ensure higher levels of security.
- ePDQ also encrypts stored transaction information, ensuring that it's not tampered with. Barclays take responsibility for capturing and storing card details on our secure servers - this always ensures that this information is held with very high levels of security. Cancellation and Return of orders
It is your right, under Customer Protection Regulations, to cancel your order with us at anytime within 7 days of receiving your goods. Should we be unable to deliver your goods within our quoted timescale you are within your rights to cancel your order without penalty, Should you choose to do so we will refund the amount you paid for the goods. However, if you have cancelled the order after the goods have been dispatched to you or if they are being delivered by a special service not provided by us, the delivery charge will not be refunded. You are under a duty to take reasonable care of the goods being returned which must also be unused. If you wish to cancel an order please contact our Customer Service Team.
Delivery
UK delivery of your order
As soon as we receive your order, it will be processed and, if stock is available will be dispatched within 3-5 working days. Where products have a longer delivery period a member of our team will contact you personally and arrange a convenient time for the delivery of your order. If any of our products are temporarily out of stock this will be made clear on the website. You will be unable to order these until shown as back in stock.
Alternative delivery address
We will need you, or someone on your behalf to sign for your goods. If someone without authority signs for the purchase Francis Wain Jewellers Ltd. will not be held responsible. If no one is available at your contact address during normal working hours to sign for your delivery, an alternative address would be helpful where goods can be signed for. This applies to goods delivered by courier. Likewise, if the goods are intended as a gift, you may wish to have them delivered to the recipient and the receipt to your own address.
Gift wrapping and message cards
If required, we are glad to offer a luxury gift wrapping service. This involves hand wrapping gifts in our luxury gold wrapping paper with chocolate ribbon and tag before placing in the usual standard box.
Tracking your order after dispatch
This can only be done if your delivery is via Royal Mail Special delivery and a consignment number has been provided. To do so simply sign in to your account information, click on 'track recent order'. If a consignment number appears against an item(s) in your order simply click on the number and you will be directed to the Royal Mail website where you can see the delivery status of your order.
Lost packages
Loss of packages can occur albeit rarely even when sent via Royal Mail Special delivery. In such an event, please allow 10 days from dispatch date for the package to arrive. However, please be aware that an insurance claim cannot be made unless we are informed of non-delivery within 30 days, nor can a claim be made for any loss against Francis Wain Jewellers Ltd.
Your Guarantee of Satisfaction
Francis Wain Ltd guarantee all their products against defect in manufacture whether purchased online or at any branch and this guarantee will be honoured on the production of the sale receipt. It in no way affects your statutory rights. We are sure you will be delighted with your purchase but we do appreciate that for whatever reason, this may not be the case every time. This being so, we will gladly offer you an exchange, a credit note of even a refund providing you return the item to us within 30 days of purchase in its original condition and packaging together with the receipt and relevant documentation. We recommend you use Royal Mail Special Delivery to ensure proof of delivery and insurance of the goods whilst in transit.

This website is produced on an "as is" basis and Francis Wain Jewellers Ltd. make no warranties or representations of any kind as to its contents or their accuracy or completeness. Francis Wain Jewellers Ltd, its directors, agents or employees will not be held liable for any damages arising out of or in connection with the use of this site. This comprehensive limitation of liability applies to all damages of any kind including, without limitation compensatory, direct, indirect or consequential damage, loss of data, income or profit, loss or damage to property and claims of third parties. Any loss incurred by you whilst transmitting information to us by email or internet link shall be entirely your responsibility and Francis Wain Jewellers Ltd. shall not be held responsible in any way.
Events beyond our control
Francis Wain Jewellers Ltd. will not be held responsible for any delay or failure to comply with our obligations terms and conditions, where that delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
This condition does not affect your statutory rights.
